Maxon is giving IBC2026 attendees an early look at upcoming fall 2026 developments across Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Redshift, Red Giant, and Autograph. The preview includes new creative tools, workflow improvements, performance enhancements, and deeper integration across the Maxon ecosystem.
Maxon announced the preview on September 9 ahead of IBC2026, which runs from September 11–14 at RAI Amsterdam. Visitors can see Maxon's latest software developments at booth 7.B24 in Hall 7, including capabilities already delivered during 2026 and features planned for the company's upcoming October releases.
As an authorized Maxon reseller, Motion Media is highlighting the product updates and upcoming capabilities that Maxon is bringing to the show.
Maxon's IBC2026 presentation covers five major products:
| Maxon Product | Key Developments and Previews |
| Cinema 4D | Redesigned UV workflow, new Cloner distribution modes, Fabric Brush, and upcoming tools for building, populating, and simulating complex 3D worlds |
| ZBrush | Windows on Arm support, direct Substance Painter integration, ZModeler and pipeline improvements, and further desktop/iPad workflow development |
| Redshift | Faster interactive rendering, improved memory efficiency, streamlined Cinema 4D material workflows, procedural fur, and cinematic color tools |
| Red Giant | Faster Universe effects, Maxon Noise integration, deeper Autograph integration, and AI-powered Scene Light for relighting |
| Autograph | Red Giant and OpenFX integration, expanded typography support, USD-powered 3D workflows, and further performance and stability improvements |
Maxon continues to release capabilities throughout the year rather than relying on a single major annual update. IBC2026 therefore provides a look at both what has recently been added to its applications and what is being developed for the next round of releases.
Cinema 4D has received several workflow improvements covering UV editing, procedural animation, modeling, and simulation. Maxon will also preview additional capabilities coming later this fall.
Cinema 4D's redesigned UV Editor brings professional UV preparation directly into the application. The workflow includes UV unwrapping, packing, seam editing, texel density tools, and UDIM support, allowing artists to handle more of the texturing preparation process without leaving Cinema 4D.
New Cloner distribution options, including Edge, Rivet, and UV Projection modes, give artists greater control over where cloned objects are positioned and how they can be animated. These options reduce the need for complex workarounds when distributing elements across geometry.
The Fabric Brush uses Cinema 4D's simulation system to let artists shape soft materials directly in the viewport. It can be used to create folds, draping, and deformation without requiring complex rigs.
At IBC2026, Maxon will preview the next major evolution of Cinema 4D, including substantial new capabilities for building, populating, and simulating complex 3D worlds.
The preview gives artists an early look at how Cinema 4D's modeling, procedural, and simulation workflows will continue to expand in the upcoming fall release.
ZBrush continues to develop its professional sculpting workflow across desktop and iPad, while new platform and pipeline improvements give artists more flexibility in how they create and move assets through production.
Native Windows on Arm support expands the hardware environments where artists can run ZBrush and sculpt digitally.
Direct integration with Substance Painter creates a more connected workflow between sculpting and texturing, reducing unnecessary steps when moving assets through the production pipeline.
Ongoing improvements to ZModeler and ZBrush's production pipeline are designed to make everyday modeling and asset-creation workflows more efficient.
At IBC2026, Maxon will preview further developments aimed at making ZBrush a more complete sculpting workflow across desktop and iPad.
The upcoming improvements are focused on reducing application switching and keeping sculpting, modeling, and related production tasks more closely connected.
Redshift's latest development focuses on rendering responsiveness, memory efficiency, and tighter integration with Cinema 4D. Maxon is also previewing new rendering and look-development capabilities for its upcoming releases.
Redshift has been improved to respond more quickly when artists adjust lights and materials, helping shorten the feedback loop during look development.
A new memory architecture improves memory efficiency across a wider range of hardware configurations. This is intended to help artists make better use of the hardware available to them.
Redshift's integration with Cinema 4D has also been refined, reducing steps involved in material creation and helping artists stay within the same production workflow.
Maxon will preview additional improvements to Redshift performance and interactivity at IBC2026.
The upcoming creative capabilities include procedural fur and more cinematic color workflows, extending Redshift's tools for rendering and look development.
Red Giant continues to receive performance improvements and new capabilities for motion graphics and visual effects workflows. Maxon is also expanding the connection between Red Giant and other applications in its ecosystem.
Several core Universe effects, including Glow, Chromatic Aberration, and RGB Separation, are being modernized to deliver significant performance improvements.
These effects are widely used for stylized treatments, optical effects, and finishing work, making performance improvements particularly relevant to motion graphics workflows.
Maxon Noise, the procedural noise technology used in Cinema 4D, is being brought into Universe. This gives motion designers additional procedural tools within the Red Giant effects environment.
Maxon is also bringing more Red Giant tools and capabilities into Autograph, strengthening the connection between effects, compositing, and motion graphics workflows.
One of the notable Red Giant previews at IBC2026 is Scene Light, an AI-powered relighting capability designed to make complex lighting adjustments faster while keeping artists in control of the result.
The feature reflects Maxon's broader use of AI-assisted workflows while retaining artist control over the creative process.
Autograph has continued to develop since its return earlier in 2026. The application combines 2D motion graphics, 3D content, and compositing workflows and is continuing to expand its integration with the wider Maxon ecosystem.
Autograph now provides native access to Red Giant effects through Maxon Studio. It also supports OpenFX, allowing users to work with compatible third-party plugins.
New vertical text and CJK support expand Autograph's typography capabilities for multilingual motion design and text animation workflows.
CJK support is particularly relevant to projects requiring Chinese, Japanese, or Korean typography.
Autograph's USD-powered 3D workspace brings 3D and compositing capabilities together in the same environment. The workflow supports extruded text and shapes, textures, and multi-pass compositing, reducing the need to separate these tasks across different applications.
At IBC2026, Maxon will preview the next stage of Autograph's development, including continued improvements to performance and stability and deeper integration with other Maxon tools.
The updates Maxon is presenting at IBC2026 cover different stages of a modern creative production pipeline.
Cinema 4D is expanding its modeling, UV, MoGraph, and simulation capabilities. ZBrush is improving sculpting flexibility across desktop and iPad while strengthening connections to texturing and production workflows. Redshift is focused on faster interactive rendering, memory efficiency, and additional rendering capabilities.
At the motion graphics and VFX end of the workflow, Red Giant is improving effect performance while introducing new AI-assisted tools such as Scene Light. Autograph is bringing 2D, 3D, compositing, typography, and Maxon effects into a more connected workflow.
Together, these developments show Maxon's continued focus on incremental improvements across its software rather than limiting major workflow changes to one annual release.
It is important to distinguish between capabilities that have already been delivered and those shown at IBC2026 as previews. The upcoming features discussed at the event are planned for Maxon's fall releases, including capabilities associated with the company's October release cycle.
Maxon will exhibit at IBC2026 from September 11–14 at RAI Amsterdam, Hall 7, booth 7.B24.
In addition to software demonstrations, Maxon will feature presentations from creative teams and artists working across different areas of the industry. Featured teams include WWE, RTL, Imaginary Forces, Fall Off the Wall, and the BBC.
Maxon trainers Jonas Pilz, Elly Wade, and Chad Perkins will also demonstrate the company's tools and workflows at the booth.
