Its USB Type-C connection carries video, USB data, and up to 70 W of power delivery through a single cable, making it practical for laptop-based workflows.

EIZO ColorEdge CG3200X

EIZO's First ColorEdge OLED Monitor

The ColorEdge CG3200X brings OLED technology to the ColorEdge family for the first time. Its 31.5-inch Quantum Dot OLED panel combines UHD 4K resolution with high peak brightness, deep blacks, and very high contrast for HDR editing and mastering.

The CG3200X delivers 1,000 cd/m² peak brightness, 300 cd/m² full-screen white, and a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio. It covers 99% of DCI-P3 and 94% of Adobe RGB and supports both PQ and HLG HDR workflows.

Key CG3200X Specifications

  • Panel: Quantum Dot OLED
  • Screen Size: 31.5 inches
  • Resolution: 3840 × 2160 UHD 4K
  • Peak Brightness: 1,000 cd/m²
  • Full-Screen White: 300 cd/m²
  • Contrast Ratio: 1,500,000:1
  • Adobe RGB: 94%
  • DCI-P3: 99%
  • HDR: PQ and HLG
  • Calibration: Built-in calibration sensor
  • USB Type-C Power Delivery: Up to 60 W
  • Color Management: ColorNavigator 7
  • Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE)
  • KVM: Built-in

The CG3200X also supports 24 Hz and 48 Hz input for 24 fps content and uses an anti-glare, low-reflection screen surface.

EIZO's ABL Control System

One of the considerations with OLED displays is Automatic Brightness Limiting (ABL). When a large portion of the screen becomes bright, the display can reduce overall brightness to protect the panel.

The CG3200X uses EIZO's ABL Control System, with higher luminance thresholds designed to reduce unnecessary dimming during bright scenes.

Flexible Dimming Modes

The CG3200X provides two dimming modes.

Highlight Dimming reduces brightness in the most luminous areas while maintaining the mid- and low-luminance portions of the image.

Uniform Dimming adjusts brightness evenly across the screen for more consistent overall luminance.

Luminance Warning

Luminance Warning identifies areas that reach a defined brightness level. In Highlight Dimming mode, it can also indicate areas affected by ABL. Users can choose yellow or magenta as the warning color.

ABL Safe View

ABL Safe View reduces the displayed image area to 10% or 25%, lowering average screen brightness and reducing the likelihood of ABL activation.

This provides another option for evaluating high-brightness HDR content while minimizing changes caused by brightness management.

HDR Editing and Mastering

The QD-OLED panel gives the CG3200X high contrast and controlled HDR brightness for evaluating highlights, shadows, and tonal detail.

The monitor supports HLG for broadcast workflows and PQ for film and streaming production.

For SDR content, the CG3200X also provides custom contrast settings from 500:1 to 2000:1, allowing users to adjust the display for different SDR viewing requirements.

Color Fringe Reduction

High-contrast edges around text and fine details can sometimes show color fringing on OLED displays. The CG3200X includes a dedicated circuit designed to reduce these artifacts for cleaner edge reproduction.

Streamline Your Color Workflow

Built-In Calibration Sensor

The CG3200X features an integrated calibration sensor, allowing supported calibration tasks to be handled without a separate external sensor.

Both the CS3200X and CG3200X support EIZO ColorNavigator 7 for color management. The main difference is that the CG3200X has a built-in calibration sensor, while the CS3200X uses a separately available external sensor.

Sync Signal

Both monitors include Sync Signal, which can automatically switch settings such as brightness, gamma/EOTF, and color gamut according to the input signal.

This helps reduce manual adjustments when moving between different projects and content formats.

Single-Cable Connection with USB Type-C®

USB Type-C provides video, USB data, and power through one cable.

The CS3200X supports up to 70 W of power delivery, while the CG3200X supports up to 60 W, making both monitors suitable for modern laptop and workstation setups.

EIZO ColorEdge CS3200X vs. CG3200X

The two monitors share the same 31.5-inch UHD 4K resolution, but they use different panel technologies and offer different feature sets.

The CS3200X uses an IPS panel with 99% Adobe RGB and 96% DCI-P3 coverage, 350 cd/m² typical brightness, and up to 70 W of USB Type-C power delivery. It is designed for photography, design, video, and other color-critical creative workflows.

The CG3200X uses a Quantum Dot OLED panel with 1,000 cd/m² peak brightness, 1,500,000:1 contrast, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, an integrated calibration sensor, and dedicated ABL control features for HDR evaluation.

For creators comparing the two, the main difference comes down to the display technology and workflow requirements: the CS3200X provides a wide-gamut 4K IPS display, while the CG3200X adds QD-OLED and advanced HDR-focused features.

What About OLED Burn-In?

Because the CG3200X uses an OLED panel, EIZO notes that displaying the same static image for extended periods can result in burn-in.

EIZO recommends using features such as screen savers and power-saving functions, avoiding unnecessary static content, and turning off the monitor when it is not in use. The CG3200X also includes panel-protection functions designed to help reduce the risk.
