Cargo Tech Product Materials Volume 2 Adds 88 New Materials Cargo Tech Product Materials Volume 2 Adds 88 New Materials

Cargo has expanded its Tech Product Materials collection with 88 new materials in Volume 2, bringing the collection to more than 160 materials for tech product and product visualization renders.

The update focuses on the surfaces you see on modern consumer electronics, with new options for rubber grips, knurled metals, soft-touch finishes, silicone, acoustic foam, molded plastics, carbon fiber, and more.

Through the Cargo desktop app, artists can browse and send materials directly into their 3D workflow, giving them more options when building realistic product surfaces and close-up shots.

What’s New in Cargo Tech Product Materials Volume 2?

The 88 new materials were created around surfaces found on real consumer electronics. Here are some of the key additions in Volume 2.

14 Rubber Grip Materials

Volume 2 adds 14 rubber grip materials for textured surfaces used on electronics and hardware.

These are useful for areas such as grips, controls, buttons, and other components where the texture of the surface is noticeable in a render.

More Knurled Metal

The update expands the selection of knurled metal materials, giving artists more options for products that use patterned or textured metal surfaces.

The added detail is especially useful for close-up renders, where a simple metal shader can look too flat.

Soft-Touch and Silicone

Cargo has also added soft-touch and silicone materials for surfaces with a more matte, muted finish.

These types of materials are common across modern hardware and accessories and have a different look from standard hard plastic or polished metal.

Brushed, Mirror, and Sandblasted Finishes

Volume 2 includes additional metal finishes covering brushed, mirror, and sandblasted surfaces.

The brushed options include three brush directions, while the mirror and sandblasted finishes provide different ways to handle reflective and more diffuse metal surfaces.

6 Acoustic Foam Materials

Another addition is a set of six acoustic foam materials.

These can be used for speaker grilles, headphone components, studio equipment, and other products where the texture and pattern of the surface are visible.

Molded Plastic and Carbon Fiber

The new collection also includes molded plastic materials with injection-molded surface detail, along with carbon fiber for products and components that use a woven composite finish.

More Material Options for Product Visualization

The Tech Product Materials collection goes beyond the new Volume 2 additions, covering a range of surfaces commonly seen in electronics and other tech products.

Sandblasted Metals

Choose from different metal treatments, including brushed, anodized, matte, high-gloss, and sandblasted finishes.

Phone Materials

Materials are available for common smartphone surfaces, including metal casings, glass screens, and smaller rubber components.

Faux Leather

The collection includes leather and suede-like finishes for products and accessories that use softer, upholstered surfaces.

Braided Cables

Braided cable materials provide more realistic options for cables where woven construction is visible in the final render.

Speaker Fabrics

Different mesh and weave patterns are available for speaker fabrics and other audio-related surfaces.

Anisotropic Finishes

Anisotropic materials are designed for metal surfaces where directional highlights and reflections are part of the finished look.

Knurled Metals

Detailed knurled surfaces add patterned geometry for grips, controls, trim, and other metal components.

Textured Plastics

The collection includes smooth and textured plastic options, along with speckled, ridged, nubby, and metallic finishes.

Camera Materials

Camera-focused materials cover surfaces such as body casings, grips, and lens components.

Designed for Detailed Product Renders

Small surface details can have a big impact on a product render, especially when the camera moves in close. A brushed metal finish, textured plastic, braided cable, or rubber grip can all change how a product reads on screen.

The expanded Cargo collection gives artists more material options for these details without having to build every surface from scratch. Volume 2 adds more variety to the types of finishes that can be used across tech products, accessories, and other detailed product scenes.
