Metashape 2.0 is Coming Dec, 31, 2022

Agisoft has announced the all new Metashape 2.0, the newest version of the leading intelligent photogrammetry software. The 2.0 version of Metashape will be available on Dec. 31, 2022, but in the meantime, you can download the pre-release version from here.

What's new in 2.0?

The main new feature will be native LiDAR data support in Metashape 2.0. This includes:

• Aerial LiDAR point attributes support
• External registration support for laser scans
• Marker-based alignment of laser scans
• Laser scans visualization in Model view
• Ground points classification adapted for LiDAR data

Additionally, Metashape 2.0 presents new DEM editing tools for manual patching of elevation models.

On top of the new features, Metashape Professional 2.0 comes with a new license activation system developed by Agisoft. Upgrading to Metashape 2.0 from a previously activated version will automatically use the license file that already exists on the user's computer - no action required on the side of the user.

For new users of Metashape Professional 2.0, the activation process will be the same as usual - you will need to enter a license key code. Please note that new activation format (the license file is created on the user's computer when entering the license key) will be incompatible with Metashape Professional 1.x versions – that is, the user will not be able to automatically downgrade from version 2.0 to the earlier versions 1.x.x, and thus manual deactivation and activation procedures will be required.
