Continuum Wins Emmy® Award: Boris FX’s Flagship Plugin Collection Honored for 30 Years of Innovation

Boris FX has done it again. The Television Academy has officially recognized Continuum, the original flagship plugin collection from Boris FX, with an Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy® Award. This award celebrates the groundbreaking technical achievements and long-standing impact Continuum has made on the world of television post-production.

The award-winning team includes Boris Yamnitsky (CEO and Founder of Boris FX), Peter McAuley (Continuum Senior Product Manager), Jason Clement (Continuum Lead Engineer), and Mike Escola (Release Engineering).

A 30-Year Journey from Basement to Emmy®

“When I started Boris FX in my parents’ basement, my goal was to fill a need in the emerging NLE market as the first-ever plugin collection,” recalls Yamnitsky. “Since then, we have strived to keep Continuum at the forefront of new technologies, including AI, developing groundbreaking visual effects, tools, and workflows that allow the television post-production community to work at its creative best.”

This Emmy® recognition arrives as Boris FX celebrates its 30th anniversary, a milestone that marks decades of continuous innovation for editors, visual effects artists, and motion graphics designers.

Why Continuum Matters to Editors and Artists

Continuum is not just a plugin collection; it’s an industry-standard toolkit used daily in film, broadcast, and streaming productions. With its AI-driven effects, compositing, motion tracking, color grading, and particle effects, Continuum empowers creators to stay in the flow of their edits without unnecessary round-tripping to external applications.

Bradinn French, Emmy Award-winning editor for A Black Lady Sketch Show (HBO), Washington Black (Hulu), and American Horror Story (FX), sums it up perfectly:

“I love having this much control over the look of my work and being able to audition things right in Continuum on the spot. That goes for filters, compositing, and color—especially if I have to do something like complex motion tracking. I don’t want to ship it to a VFX house and wait if I don’t have to. I can do it right here and tweak it to my eye or a director’s eye.”

This efficiency is why Continuum remains a go-to solution for top networks and studios, including A&E Networks, ABC News, Bunim-Murray Productions, CBS Sports, Discovery Communications, FX Network, HBO Studio Productions, Marvel, Turner Studios, WWE, and more.

Where Continuum Works

Continuum seamlessly integrates with the leading NLE and compositing platforms, including:

Its flexibility makes it a must-have plugin collection for editors, VFX professionals, and motion designers across the globe.

Emmy® Awards Legacy

Continuum now joins Boris FX’s other acclaimed products, Sapphire, Mocha Pro, and Silhouette, which were also honored with Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy® Awards in 2019.

The official awards ceremony will take place on October 14, 2025, at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California.

The Boris FX Commitment

“We’d like to thank all the editors, VFX artists, and mograph designers who continue to choose Continuum to help tell the stories we all gather around to watch,” adds Yamnitsky. “Your artistry inspires us daily and is the driving force behind our dedication to delivering the tools you need most.”
