RizomUV 2027 is now available, introducing a redesigned workspace, faster UV processing, live constraint updates, improved edge selection, scene-level UV management, new texel-density controls, expanded file support, and broader scripting and pipeline automation.
Released on October 8, 2026, RizomUV 2027 is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The official changelog identifies the release as version 2027.0.598.
RizomUV is UV mapping and UV unwrapping software for preparing 3D assets for texturing and downstream production. The 2027 release focuses on both sides of that workflow: making individual UV-editing tasks more efficient while adding capabilities for larger scenes, automation, and studio pipeline integration.

RizomUV 2027 introduces a redesigned workspace that can be configured around different artists, monitors, and production tasks.
Panels can be reordered, docked, detached, or displayed as floating windows. Artists can move panels onto additional monitors, collapse side columns to increase viewport space, and save complete workspace layouts as presets.
Those presets retain the window arrangement, tab order, active panels, and toolbar configuration. This makes it possible to keep different setups for unfolding, packing, reviewing, or scripting without repeatedly rebuilding the interface.
Frequently used controls can now be added to customizable toolbars and rearranged according to the workflow. Toolbar configurations can be exported and imported, making it easier to reproduce a setup on another workstation.
RizomUV 2027 also adds Ctrl+K command search. Typing the name of a tool, setting, or panel searches the interface and reveals the matching control directly.
The updated in-app documentation includes offline search, scripting references, location paths, and richer tooltips.
Performance improvements are a major part of RizomUV 2027.
Unfold and Optimize now solve UV islands in parallel, with each island using RizomUV’s latest solver core. This allows the application to make greater use of available processing resources when working with complex assets and scenes.
The release also improves several supporting operations. Edge selection has been rewritten for greater speed, transforms on very large meshes have been optimized, and raster export has been accelerated.
The result is a workflow that is designed to spend less time rebuilding unchanged geometry or waiting for operations to complete.
Live Update recalculates an affected island as soon as an edge constraint changes.
Artists can add or remove constraints and immediately inspect the resulting UV shape without repeatedly applying the operation. This is useful when testing seam placements or correcting difficult portions of a model where several constraint configurations need to be evaluated.
The new Align Borders workflow can align island borders to the U and V axes during Unfold and Optimize operations.
An angle threshold and optional pre-orientation help control how borders are aligned. This provides a faster way to correct irregular borders and prepare islands for cleaner layouts.
RizomUV 2027 also adds contextual shortcuts for Unflatten, Unfold, and Optimize, allowing these operations to target the island beneath the cursor.
For larger projects, RizomUV 2027 introduces the Scene Outliner, which organizes objects, materials, and polygon groups imported from OBJ and FBX files.
The hierarchy can be used to locate specific scene elements and perform operations such as:
This makes the UV workflow easier to manage when an asset contains multiple materials, polygon groups, modular components, or many separate objects.
RizomUV 2027 also adds partial FBX scene loading, allowing selected objects to be loaded instead of opening an entire scene. This functionality follows the selective-loading approach already available for USD workflows.
RizomUV 2027 adds tools for controlling how texture resolution is distributed across a model.
The Density and Protect maps can be generated from ambient occlusion. Density information can influence Unfold and can also determine the base scale used during Packing.
The new Density brush updates optimization while painting and displays distortion during the process. Brushes can also be used directly in the 3D viewport as volumetric strokes with ray-cast occlusion.
For texturing workflows, per-polygon Color IDs allow artists to assign colors to selected polygons using a color picker. UV snapshot exports can also fill polygons according to their displayed texel density, providing a visual way to inspect the texture budget.
RizomUV 2027 additionally supports Density and Protect map import and export in USD workflows.
The edge-selection system has been rebuilt to make detailed selections more predictable.
Edge loops can continue through seams while following topology, and parallel edge selection can propagate across cuts. The shortest-path tool has also been rewritten for faster operation, direction-aware paths, consistent A-to-B and B-to-A results, and a Straightness control that ranges from the shortest path toward a straighter route.
Selections can also be converted to and from islands, while the Scene Outliner provides direct selection of materials and polygon-group borders.
These changes reduce repetitive selection work during seam creation and detailed UV corrections.
RizomUV 2027 adds several workflow improvements beyond the main UV editing tools.
Artists can now copy and paste islands, UVs, and topology between UV sets, with a new Duplicate function for UV sets.
Transform workflows also gain more control through accurate local-axis transformations, independent per-axis translation and scale locks, and a Fit to Box mode for geometric transforms.
The release also adds more control over tile and UV transformations, including tile scaling and offset fields.
The updated viewport provides additional feedback before and during UV operations.
Artists can preview the primitive beneath the pointer before selecting it, while hovering over a seam previews its paired edge. Edges now use anti-aliasing with separate display settings for seams, borders, constrained edges, and selected edges.
Other viewport changes include:
These changes make it easier to inspect the state of an asset before committing to an operation.
One of the most significant changes for production teams is the expanded scripting and automation system.
Headless mode allows the full scripting surface to run without displaying the RizomUV interface. It is intended for batch processing, automated build steps, and pipeline workflows, with console output sent to the launching terminal and command-line errors returning usable exit codes.
A background launch mode is also available for starting RizomUV without bringing the application to the foreground.
Python is now the default scripting language for fresh installations. RizomUV 2027 includes an embedded Python 3.12 environment on Windows and Python 3.13 on macOS and Linux, along with a dockable script editor and replayable command log.
The command log records a session as a script in the current scripting language. This allows a manually completed sequence of operations to be captured and reused as a repeatable automation step.
For pipeline teams, RizomUV 2027 therefore provides a more direct route from interactive UV work to scripted batch processing.
RizomUVLink is now included on Windows, macOS, and Linux, expanding the live connection used by DCC bridges and studio tools.
The updated connection layer provides more reliable sessions, consistent command-failure reporting, and push notifications. The new GetVersion and Subscribe commands can help integrations detect changes without relying exclusively on repeated polling.
RizomUVLink also includes Python client modules supporting Python 3.6–3.13 on Windows and Python 3.9–3.13 on macOS and Linux.
The RizomUVLink package now ships inside RizomUV on all three platforms.
RizomUV 2027 expands the information that can be stored with FBX assets.
Supported UV workflow data includes UV constraints, pins, maps, the symmetry plane, and UVW properties. This allows supported UV setup information to remain with an asset as it moves through a production pipeline.
The release also adds glTF 2.0 import and export, expanding file exchange for real-time, web, and AR workflows.
On macOS, RizomUV 2027 also adds USD and TIFF import/export support.
RizomUV 2027 addresses different needs depending on the production environment.
UV artists gain a more configurable workspace, faster selection, Live Update, Align Borders, improved viewport feedback, and more direct control over texel density.
Game and real-time artists can take advantage of density controls, packing improvements, glTF 2.0 support, and tools for reviewing how texture resolution is distributed.
Artists working with complex scenes gain the Scene Outliner, selective FBX loading, improved scene-level selection, and more control over materials and polygon groups.
Technical artists and pipeline teams gain the most significant automation additions, including headless execution, Python scripting, the command log, and cross-platform RizomUVLink.
The common thread is workflow reduction: less time spent navigating menus, rebuilding selections, managing large scenes manually, or repeating the same UV operations across assets.
RizomUV 2027 combines improvements to everyday UV editing with broader production and pipeline capabilities.
The release adds:
Faster processing through parallel island solving and an updated solver core.
More responsive editing with Live Update, Align Borders, contextual operations, and improved edge selection.
Better scene management with Scene Outliner and partial FBX loading.
More precise texture allocation with Density and Protect maps, Density brush controls, and texel-density visualization.
Stronger automation through headless mode, background launch, Python scripting, and replayable command logs.
Broader integration through cross-platform RizomUVLink and push notifications.
More flexible asset exchange through expanded FBX data support and glTF 2.0 import/export.
