RailClone 7.1.4 is officially here, bringing a fresh wave of improvements designed to make procedural modeling faster, cleaner, and more intuitive. This update focuses on strengthening RailClone’s core nodes, enhancing spline-generation behavior, expanding expression capabilities, and giving you tighter control over texture paths and library storage.
Whether you’re creating large-scale architectural assets, automating scene elements, or optimizing a complex RailClone graph, this version introduces powerful quality-of-life updates that dramatically improve day-to-day workflow.
RailClone 7.1.4 adds a Renderable toggle to both Segment and Transform nodes. When disabled, the geometry is still processed within your construction but won’t appear in the viewport or final render.
This means you can now use helper objects, guides, markers, and control geometry without resorting to clunky hacks. It’s cleaner, faster, and especially useful for artists working with reference-driven procedural setups.
The Sequence Operator becomes significantly more powerful with two new options:
This level of control gives you highly flexible, production-ready randomness, perfect for facades, furniture sets, cladding, modular elements, and anything that benefits from controlled variation.
The Draw Spline display setting now applies only to terminal generators. This prevents visual clutter when working with layered or nested generators, helping maintain viewport clarity and performance even in large, complex graphs.
Expressions get several new attributes that expand your control:
These changes make procedural logic easier to build, reuse, and align across multiple RailClone objects.
You can now edit multiple Link nodes at once directly in the Style Editor. Select your nodes → right-click → Link Nodes.
You can also set a default link style in Preferences, ensuring consistent styling across new graphs.
Texture path management gets a major upgrade:
This is especially helpful for teams using de-centralized storage or distributed rendering setups.
RailClone 7.1.4 gives you total control over where your built-in libraries are stored. You can now:
This improves asset consistency, collaboration, and multi-artist workflow efficiency.
Expressions are now initialized with return 0; by default as a helpful cue that a return statement is always required.
RailClone 7.1.4 is available today for all users with an active Maintenance Plan. To update:
If your Maintenance Plan has expired, you can renew anytime without penalties and regain access to updates, libraries, and technical support.
RailClone 7.1.4 is packed with improvements that make procedural modeling faster, cleaner, and more intuitive. If you want smoother pipelines, smarter randomization, better expression logic, and more control over libraries and textures, this update is absolutely worth installing.
