ZBrush 2021.7 – Free Upgrade Now Available

Great news for digital artists and 3D designers! All registered users of ZBrush are entitled to a free upgrade to ZBrush 2021.7. This latest update brings new tools and workflow improvements that make sculpting faster, smarter, and more precise.

How to Upgrade to ZBrush 2021.7

All registered ZBrush users (2018 and above) and ZBrushCore users are eligible for this free upgrade. Here’s how:

Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide (ZBrush 2018 or Above, Non-Floating Licenses)

Disable your antivirus software temporarily (including Windows Defender) to avoid installer issues.
Go to My Licenses and log in with your Pixologic ID.
- If you encounter a login loop, see troubleshooting notes below.
Click the button to Download ZBrush 2021.7. (No need to upgrade your license – it uses your existing serial key.)
Select your region and platform to download.
- Tip: The download button never expires. You get up to 5 download attempts every 24 hours, so you can always re-download the latest installer.
Install ZBrush 2021.7.
- Mac users: If you see the message "Install ZBrush 2021.app can't be opened…," go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General → Open Anyway.
On first launch, activate using your Pixologic ID. This won’t use extra activations if you already had ZBrush 2018 or newer installed.
If you use the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge, activate it as well.
Re-enable your antivirus software.
You may uninstall older versions at any time, but do not deactivate them, or ZBrush 2021 will also deactivate.

Upgrading from Earlier 2021 Versions

If you’re already on a previous ZBrush 2021 release, you have three options:

Use the ZUpgrader (not ZUpdater) in your ZBrush 2021 folder to update without a full reinstall.
- If ZBrush won’t launch after updating, do a full reinstall.
Uninstall your current ZBrush 2021 version, then follow the standard upgrade steps.
(Windows only) Install to a different folder name (e.g., "2021.6") while keeping the current version. Note: This option does not work for macOS.

Special Cases
