Fusion Studio is the world's most advanced compositing software for visual effects artists, broadcast designers, and 3D animators, and it has spent more than 30 years earning that reputation on thousands of Hollywood blockbusters and hit television shows. Features film work like Ant-Man, Red Sparrow, and London Has Fallen, alongside television series like Empire, NCIS, and Emergence, has all passed through Fusion at some point, and the software plays a major role in video game cinematics for titles like Dawn of War III and Halo 5.
At the heart of Fusion is a powerful node based interface that represents every effect, filter, and image processing tool as a small connectable icon, letting you build sophisticated composites by wiring tools together instead of hunting through nested layers and stacks. You get a true 3D workspace for combining live action with 3D models, cameras, and lights, along with advanced keying using Delta, Ultra, Chroma, Luma, and Differential keyers, fast motion tracking, vector paint and rotoscoping, and optical flow algorithms for retiming, steadying, and morphing footage with remarkable accuracy.
Fusion Studio 21 adds a long list of workflow upgrades on top of that foundation. Compositions built on the Fusion page can now be saved as templates and applied directly on the edit or cut page, new animation curve modifiers automatically retime keyframes when a clip's duration changes, and audio playback with waveform display makes it far easier to sync animation to sound. The Fusion page also gains 27 new GPU accelerated Resolve FX, including the noise reduction and sharpening tools from the color page, along with lens blur, light effects, texture and stylize tools, and beauty retouching, all while node view bookmarks and customizable toolbars keep large, complex comps easy to navigate.
Fusion Studio is built to move fast under pressure, with Metal, CUDA, and OpenCL GPU acceleration delivering instant feedback even in client driven sessions, and it is fast enough to run in a VR headset at over 90 frames per second. Rendering is equally unrestricted, with the world's fastest production quality render engine and unlimited network rendering across as many machines as you need, with no per node license fees. Scripting support for Lua and Python lets studios automate repetitive tasks, build custom tools, and extend Fusion into their own internal pipelines.
For editors working in DaVinci Resolve or Avid Media Composer, Fusion Connect lets you send clips straight to Fusion, where a linked composition updates automatically back in the timeline once rendered, and a bin server keeps shared assets in sync for large collaborative teams. Fusion Studio is activated using a DaVinci Resolve license and unlocks support for third party OFX filters on top of everything included in the free version, making it the complete choice for artists who need the deepest possible visual effects and motion graphics toolset.
