FumeFX 7 introduces a groundbreaking Ocean simulation system designed to give 3D artists the power to create realistic water surfaces, waves, foam, bubbles, and spray directly inside 3ds Max. Built on the robust NodeWorks multiphysics framework, this latest version seamlessly integrates with existing FumeFX tools, making it easy to combine fire, smoke, liquids, and rigid body dynamics with ocean environments for unmatched realism and flexibility.
At the heart of this update lies the GPU-accelerated spectrum wave generator. This technology enables artists to produce natural, non-tiled wave surfaces that can scale from subtle ripples to vast, storm-driven oceans. By blending multiple spectral layers with Perlin noise masks, creators have complete control over complexity and detail, ensuring results that look natural and cinematic.
Interaction is a defining strength of FumeFX 7's Ocean. Floating objects are now affected by buoyancy and wave motion, creating lifelike behavior for ships, debris, and other elements. The system automatically generates foam and spray where objects disturb the surface, while wakes and wave impacts add further depth to the simulation.
In addition to the new Ocean module, FumeFX 7 retains the power of its multiphysics core. Artists can continue to combine fluids, fire, cloth, soft bodies, and voxel grids with ocean dynamics, all within a single, node-based environment. This unified workflow saves time and opens the door for highly creative, procedural setups.
With its combination of speed, flexibility, and realism, FumeFX 7 is an essential tool for visual effects, animation, and visualization professionals who demand complete control over ocean surfaces and interactions. Whether crafting cinematic storm sequences, tranquil seas, or game-ready water systems, FumeFX 7 delivers production-ready results inside a streamlined pipeline.
